General
Where can you work on my vehicle?
At your home, your workplace, or another suitable location where the vehicle is on a safe, reasonably level surface and we have permission to work. Roadside requests depend on safe, permitted access.
How do I get an estimate?
Call or text 631-415-8953 with your vehicle's year, make, model, engine if known, the symptoms, and your town or ZIP code. Estimates are specific to your vehicle and the work involved.
Do you work on every make and model?
We work on many common vehicles, but suitability depends on the specific vehicle, how accessible the part is, and the equipment needed. We'll tell you before scheduling if your job is a better fit for a shop.
What repairs don't you do?
We don't perform transmission work, engine replacements, major teardown, or repairs requiring extensive disassembly.
Which areas do you serve?
Bay Shore and nearby towns including Brightwaters, West Islip, Islip, Brentwood, Babylon, and Deer Park. Send your ZIP code to confirm availability.
Can I book online?
We schedule by phone or text so we can confirm your vehicle, the job, and a suitable location first. Use the text estimate form or call to check availability.
Battery Replacement
Mobile battery replacement detailsMy car won't start. Does that mean I need a new battery?
Not necessarily. A no-start can come from the battery, corroded terminals, a failing starter, a charging problem, or something unrelated like a security or fuel issue. We test before recommending a replacement.
Can you replace my battery at home?
In most cases, yes — as long as there's a safe, reasonably level spot where we can work around the vehicle, like a driveway or a permitted parking space.
How do I get a price?
Call or text us with your vehicle's year, make, model, and engine. Battery prices depend on the size and type your vehicle requires, so we quote for your specific vehicle.
What happens to my old battery?
Ask us when you request your estimate and we'll explain how the old battery is handled for your visit.
Brake Repair
Mobile brake repair detailsDo I always need rotors with new pads?
No. It depends on the rotors' condition. If they're within specification and in good shape, pads alone may be appropriate. We'll show you what we see and explain the recommendation.
Can brakes be done in a driveway?
Usually, yes. We need a firm, reasonably level surface where the vehicle can be safely lifted and supported.
Do you replace calipers?
We replace selected calipers when access and the vehicle's design make it practical to do on-site. Bleeding the system properly is part of that job.
How long does a brake job take?
It depends on the vehicle and how many axles need work. We'll give you a realistic window when we discuss your estimate.
Diagnostics
Mobile diagnostics detailsCan't I just get the codes read for free at a parts store?
You can, and it's a reasonable first step. A code identifies a system or condition, not necessarily the failed part. Diagnosis is the testing that confirms the actual cause.
My car won't start. Is that a battery, starter, or something else?
It could be any of those, or fuel, ignition, or security-system related. That's what no-start troubleshooting is for: narrowing it down with tests rather than guesses.
What if the repair can't be done on-site?
We'll explain what we found and why it's better suited to a shop, so you can make an informed decision.
Starter Replacement
Mobile starter replacement detailsHow do I know it's the starter and not the battery?
You often can't tell from the symptom alone. We test the battery and starter circuit before recommending a starter.
Can every starter be replaced in a driveway?
No. Some vehicles have starters that are difficult to reach. We'll check your vehicle's layout first and tell you honestly whether it's a good fit for mobile service.
What information helps with an estimate?
Year, make, model, engine size, and a short description of what happens when you try to start the car.
Alternator Replacement
Mobile alternator replacement detailsCan a bad alternator ruin a new battery?
A charging problem can repeatedly drain a battery and shorten its life. That's why we test both together.
Is it safe to drive with the battery light on?
It's risky. The car may run on battery power for a short time and then stall. If the light comes on, limit driving and get it tested.
Can you replace any alternator on-site?
Not every one. Access varies by vehicle. Send us your year, make, model, and engine and we'll tell you if it's a good fit for mobile service.
